News from Chedworth Place |
Several of us at Chedworth are extremely dissatisfied with the service BT offer - one of our residents was without broadband for three months while BT tried to fix the problem and he was told he could lose it completely if no solution was found so a few of us decided to investigate the possibility of alternative suppliers.
Satellite first sprang to mind but, having contacted a number of broadband suppliers, a couple of other options have come to light. First, LN Communications offered the possibility of a fast service using microwave to reach St Mary's Church tower, then transferring on by wireless to properties in Chedworth.
Then Avonline suggested that we follow the example of Lyddington in Rutland in getting fibre-optic to the local street cabinet this would benefit both all residents on the Heath as well as those in Tattingstone-church. I know that Rodney Chadburn did some work for the Parish Council, but don't know if this has been taken any further.
We are hoping a story in the Tattingstone News would help gauge the interest in getting a decent broadband service into the village. I would be happy to field all queries and keep a record of all those interested. We already have nine households here who are keen to get things going. Let us know what you think - and if there is anything I can do to help please let me know. Thanks, Lloyd Butler
