As most of you are aware I have been elected the Chairman of Babergh District Council for the forthcoming year, I am really proud to be offered this position and think it reflects well on the area and people I represent.

As Babergh’s Chair I have two adopted Charities Sue Ryder Care and The Fire Fighters Charity. Being quite gullible I took up the challenge to take part in the Great East Swim with weather conditions akin to mid winter instead of midsummer I did wonder what an earth I was doing there still I did manage to complete the course in just under an hour and raised a considerable amount for my charities. You will also recently received a copy of Babergh Matters through your doors and included within it is a pre paid post card allowing you to inform us of your views on the future of how decisions are made at Babergh please take time to read it and return it letting us have your views.

Meanwhile all Councils are awaiting Budget announcements to see what the future has in store for us.
